Jabra A210 Bluetooth adaptor

$89

Hands free mobile communications brand Jabra, has launched an innovative product that enables owners of non-Bluetooth compatible phones to take advantage of the wireless technology.

The Jabra A210 Bluetooth adaptor plugs into a mobile phone to give it Bluetooth connectivity to any Jabra Bluetooth headset, providing non-Bluetooth capable phones with the same wireless functionlity as Bluetooth models.

The Jabra A210 fits with any industry standard 2.5mm headset jack on most non-Bluetooth phones.   It offers up to eight hours of talk time, 240 hours of standby time, and operates while charging.

A pairing button and stylus are designed to make it simple to connect a mobile phone to the headset.  With the latest release of Bluetooth technology version 1.2, users will be able to use their mobile from up to 9 metres away from their handset.

The Jabra A210 supports voice dialing and comes with an LED interface so users can see if the headset is on and if the battery is low.  It includes a belt clip and Velcro for fixing the adaptor to a belt or the back of a mobile phone.

As more phones become available with Bluetooth as standard, the A210 will become redundant sooner rather than later. In addition, although Jabra does not say so explicitly, it's a fair bet that the adaptor is limited only to Jabra headsets. Howewever, at $89 (plus the cost of a Jabra headset), the Jabra A210 appears to be a viable option to trading in a phone for Bluetooth model.
