Friday, 13 May 2005

Consumer internet telephony vendor engin has launched an upgraded version of its consumer VoIP system engine Voice Box, called engin Voice Box Series 2.

engin’s Voice Box Series 2 enables home and business users to make calls to and receive calls from any landline or mobile phone over their existing broadband Internet connection, plus a number of new features:

· Anywhere Connect allows customers to phone their own phone number and connect remotely to their engin Voice Box Series 2. Once connected they can make cheap phone calls to anywhere in the world. People using a mobile phone can call their home or office number and then route their call using the engin Voice Box Series 2 to any phone in the world, reducing their mobile bill.

· Switchback helps to keep users connected in the event of power outages by switching back to an existing landline when necessary.

· Land-line Ring Through enables users to have two incoming telephone numbers on one handset.  Calls that are made to an existing landline can be picked up by connecting the line to the unit.

engin Voice Box Series 2 also includes voicemail, call waiting, call forwarding, call return, caller ID, 3-way calling, block caller ID, speed dial, call line ID, block last call, do not disturb, block anonymous phone call and turbo dialing.

The new engin Voice Box series, which sells for $229, is currently available at Harvey Norman and will soon be available in Dick Smith Electronics, Powerhouse, Tandy and Leading Edge Stores.
