SmartyHost launches DIY blogging for great unwebbed PDF  | Print |
Thursday, 28 July 2005

Web hosting services company, SmartyHost, has launched what it claims is an Australian first - an all inclusive blogging solution for personal or corporate blogs.

The web hosting company's new SmartyBlog package is targeted at the great unwashed masses at the grass roots level and includes a design template, domain name, a content management system, hosting with 50M of storage, RSS feeds, email to blog and Google ads for $120 a year.

“With SmartyBlog anyone can now register their own domain name today, and start blogging on their personal blog tomorrow. Thanks to the user friendly three step set up process we provide, anybody interested in blogging can now do so easily thanks to our one-stop-blog-shop,” said Anoosh Manzoori, managing director of SmartyHost.

“Most people are thrilled by the idea of starting their own blog and sharing their thoughts and ideas with the world, but the process of registering their own domain name, finding and uploading the right content management system (CMS) or learning about coding, have stopped them from following through,” said Manzoori.

“In many ways a blog shares the characteristics of a diary. A diary should be easy to use, personal – and equally important – stored in a safe and secure location. Similarly, we want bloggers to feel that their blog is easy to use, personal as well as stored in a secure place.”
