Mincom wins railways deal in US PDF  | Print |
Thursday, 28 July 2005

Business applications provider, Mincom, has signed a deal with BNSF Railway Company, one of the largest railways in North America, to provide supply chain management, inventory, e-procurement and parts cataloging solutions.

In 2004, BNSF initiated a project to find a fully integrated, best of breed solution for its system-wide logistics and material management business processes. The company wanted a user-friendly interface that offered a one stop shop for material needs, including stock, vendor-held consignment, and direct charge requirements.

"Mincom's solutions and their industry expertise are derived from working within asset-intensive industries as opposed to the manufacturing sector," says Michael McClary, BNSF director, purchasing processes and systems.

"Mincom has had a long history of working with transportation organizations and our expertise in this industry allows us to understand the challenges that BNSF faces on a daily basis and overcome them," says Rick Rogers, Mincom's president of North America.
