Swedish broadband hardware supplier, Proxilliant Systems, has opened its Asia Pacific sales office in Melbourne. Proxilliant supplies a tool to cable operators designed to improve scalability, capacity, service quality and profitability of broadband networks. Marketing and sales throughout Asia Pacific will be supervised and maintained from Melbourne by Dave Torr, regional manager for the office. Previously, Torr founded and operated Philips’ Cable Modem Business Unit. He then joined Com21, a pioneer of the cable modem industry, as vice president and general manager of the ATM Business unit which addressed VoIP.
