eLearning software developer HarvestRoad (ASX:HRD) has won a deal to supply its digital data repository to the Office of Continuous Learning (OCL) at the US Naval Postgraduate School in California.
The Naval Post Graduate School offers a variety of graduate courses and professional development opportunities to students whenever required, wherever they may be located.
According to HarvestRoad, The Office of Continuous Learning was looking for a Learning Object Repository that would allow the faculty to find learning objects relevant to their courses or interests and to incorporate these objects into the online portions of their courses. In addition, the OCL wanted a Learning Object Repository environment as a means to not only manage their learning content but to also streamline some existing core Instructional Design tasks and processes.
Kari Miglaw, deputy director, Office of Continuous Learning said, "The OCL's primary objectives will comprise an initial phase to include categorizing over 200 Interactive Media Elements (IMEs) that have been created by the Distributed Learning Resource Center. The IMEs have been designed to support highly technical graduate level online courses. As the number of IMEs increases, the need to better retrieve them also increases.
Grame Barty, managing dDirector, HarvestRoad said, "We are very pleased to be selected by such an important client and our selection was reflective of the commitment the company has to US Department of Defence standards particularly in relation to the management of reusable knowledge objects." |
