Esker Software wins UNiTAB document delivery deal PDF  | Print |
Monday, 01 August 2005

Automated document delivery provider, Esker Software, has implemented its document delivery platform, including a fax server solution, at Queensland based gaming operator UNiTAB Limited.

UNiTAB holds authorised licences in New South Wales, Queensland, Northern Territory and South Australia to conduct totalisator sports and race wagering and fixed odds sports betting by the internet, telephone and through its retail network.

At the end of 2004, UNiTAB acquired Maxgaming, a subsidiary of TAB Limited – an existing Esker customer.  As a result of the acquisition, on 1 January UNiTAB embarked on a six month migration program to integrate all areas of the two organisations and relocate computer systems from Sydney to the Brisbane head office.

Stephen Lawrie, group GM technology for UNiTAB Limited, said: “The magnitude of task ahead of us – to merge all areas of the two businesses – meant that we needed reliable suppliers and partners to see us through the process.  We looked to the most successful aspects of the separate businesses to determine our way forward and Esker’s solutions had worked well for TAB and stood out as an effective business tool.”

With the Esker solution now in place, UNiTAB is examining how to use the software in other areas of its wagering and gaming business.

UNiTAB currently uses the Esker solution in the same way TAB Limited did – to automate the delivery of its monthly invoices to customers which, for UNiTAB, includes some 400 registered clubs, pubs and other gaming venues throughout Australia.

The Esker fax server solution automates fax communication and is designed to eliminate lost time being spent on manually printing and faxing invoices.

James Elkington, managing director of Esker Software Australasia said:  “Esker has the know-how to ensure that a new solution is implemented quickly and easily.  UNiTAB is a prime example of a business which was in the midst of a significant transition and chose Esker to easily improve its productivity in terms of document delivery.”
