Mincom inks three year deal with Tarong Energy PDF  | Print |
Wednesday, 07 September 2005

Software and services, company, Mincom Limited, has expanded its relationship with Queensland's Tarong Energy Corporation by signing a three-year contract for the provision of managed information technology services.

MMS already hosts Tarong Energy's enterprise resource planning system, Mincom Ellipse.

Mincom's global managed IT services business, Mincom Managed Services (MMS), will provide infrastructure and support services for the Queensland Government owned electricity generator until June 2008.

MMS will supply data communications, network, desktop, help desk, server, security, disaster recovery and applications support and maintenance services to Tarong Energy and its 365 staff at five sites in Queensland and South Australia.

"By contracting the delivery of these operational services to MMS, Tarong Energy can concentrate on IT strategy and ensure that these services meet its business needs," said Ray Storace, Mincom's executive vice-president global managed services and customer support.

Tarong Energy has an option to extend the contract beyond 2008.

The relationship between the two companies dates back to 2000 when Tarong Energy appointed Mincom as its IT infrastructure outsourcing partner, through a five year contract.
