destra opts for local supplier of web metrics PDF  | Print |
Thursday, 08 September 2005

Web hosting provider, destra Corporation Limited (ASX:DES), has appointed a local developed web metrics package by AIMstats Pty Ltd to replace the US products DeepMetrix LiveSTATS effective immediately.

destra plans to use the locally developed AIMstats software to deliver much enhanced web traffic analysis information to more than 10,000 virtual domain customers. destra Corporation CEO, Domenic Carosa, said the introduction of AIMstats offered customers a more powerful and relevant analytics package whilst also creating a new revenue stream for destra.

“With companies increasingly demanding more accountability from their investment in websites and online advertising, web metrics is shaping up as a major growth area in the competitive web-hosting industry,” said Carosa. “Enhanced product offerings, high quality customer service and lower operating costs are key to our continued growth. Through the deployment of the AIMstats solution, web analytics can become a revenue generator rather than a cost centre.”

In recent months, corporate activity in the web analytics market has intensified. Highlights include Google’s US$30 million purchase of Urchin and a US$98 million venture capital funded purchase of WebTrends.

AIMstats CEO, Adrian Jensen, said AIMhost was leading the way in next generation web analytics. “Because of its design efficiency, AIMhost allows real time statistical reporting on over 10,000 virtual domains using only two off-the-shelf servers. Competitive offerings (notably US based providers) require upward of 20 servers to deliver a comparable service.

“As a result, the AIMstats solution significantly reduces the total cost of ownership of web analytics for hosting companies as well as offering additional customer services. Hosting companies can now offer highly cost-effective analytics packages to their customers, turning a cost centre into a revenue generator,” Jensen said.

According to destra, AIMhost will deliver destra’s customers an enhanced user experience including quicker review and analysis of their site’s performance, insights into visitor browsing habits and enhanced visibility of visitor response to site changes in real-time.

“Key to destra’s investment decision is AIMhost’s ability to offer improved customer service at a significantly reduced operating cost in addition to a modularised reporting menu that responds to the requirements of individual customers,” said Carosa.

Jensen said that the destra agreement underlines the ability of AIMstats and Australian-developed software to compete effectively in the global marketplace.
