Redflex wins multi-million US traffic enforcement contract PDF  | Print |
Friday, 16 September 2005

Redflex Traffic Systems, a US subsidiary of the Redflex Group (ASX:RDF), has been awarded a new US build-own-operate-maintain contract for a photo enforcement program with the City of San Leandro in California.

San Leandro is located in the east bay area of greater San Francisco and is a small city with a population of 80,000.

Under the contract, Redflex will deliver a red light photo enforcement program in up to ten intersections to improve public safety. The contract is for five years with two options for two year extensions. Redflex will receive a fixed fee for each red light enforced approach installed within an intersection. Based on previous contracts of US$6000 per month per intersection, the deal is worth about US$6.5 million if the contract runs the full nine years, including extensions.

Redflex Traffic Systems now has contracts in 65 cities and towns across thirteen states in the US.
